Poppy Tilda was one of the special edition stamps that was only available from a store in Netherlands (or one of the European countries).  But now, it is available at 

Stamp and Create!

I colored Special Edition Poppy Tilda using DI's and the sentiment is from a sticker set by MME.

Keeping my post short today because I gotta run! (...like, really run on the treadmill....and I gotta burn those zucchini patties I had for lunch!)

Poppy Tilda

Hello there! 

My card today features Poppy Tilda which is an exclusive from Sir Stampalot. I got this stamp in the mail a few weeks ago and I have colored a few of them. This particular one actually made it to a card. I found some blue Poppies from Wild Orchid Crafts that I had in my stash so I thought I'd use them for this card.

I inked her up with Distress Ink.

Beautiful flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. 

The inside of the card has the same  layout as the front. 

The DP is from American Crafts called Yes, Please!

Drip Drop Tilda with no black lines

Hiya! 

I made a little tutorial on how I colored Drip Drop Tilda with Distress Inks and  using the "no-lines" technique. I posted each photo on Facebook as I was coloring.  Now I want to share it with you.

1. After I stamped Drip Drop Tilda on watercolor paper with Adirondack Cloudy Blue ink pad, I outlined my shadows using Weathered Wood. The ground is Shabby Shutters.

 

2. Tattered Rose for the Skin.

3. I mapped out the hair using Walnut Stain. Then I let it dry.

 4. Lightly blended the ink with a damp brush.

5. I added some more Walnut Stain. Just laid it where I first mapped out the hair. Let it dry.

6. Blend out the 2nd layer of Walnut Stain. Then I started laying a thin line of Vintage Photo on her face and neck. Spun Sugar for her cheeks. After laying the ink, I immediately blended it out while it was still wet.

7.  I outlined her clothes with Victorian Velvet and blended it out right away.

8. I did a 2nd layer of Victorian Velvet and did the same to the lower part of her clothes.

9. Stormy Sky for her boots and I paid 2 layers of ink and did the same technique.

10. Vintage Photo for shadows to her arms and legs. Just  thin line if ink, then blend out before it dries.

11. Scattered Straw for the umbrella and handle.  For the middle part or spine of the umbrella, I used Brushed Corduroy.

12. Finally, I used Vintage Photo DI Markers for her eyes, brows, cheeks and the end of her hair. The raindrops are Weathered Wood.

 These are the brushes I used to color the image.  I also used Arches Hot Press WC Paper 140lbs.

I hope you learn something from me today. There are other ways to color images using the "no-lines" technique. This is just my way of doing it. If you have other ways to color, please do share it with me. I'd love to learn other techniques!

Hi Friends.

Early this week,  I received this stamp (Drip Drop Tilda). The first time I saw this stamp I knew I had to have it. It was raining when I got this from my mailbox.  When I opened the package, a lot of things came to my mind...all about rain. I was trying to think about what cards I can make with it.  

I remembered my son's 7th birthday party. We celebrated it in the same garden where we had our wedding (in the Philippines). There were lots of kids and they all were having so much fun. But right in the middle of the games, it started to rain.  So we had to move the tables and food to the covered area. While everybody was busy moving things around, my son came to me and with tears in his eyes, he said..."Mom, it's raining...and it's my birthday...".  I hugged him tight and told him..."every drop of rain is a blessing. Your party is not over." He smiled and hugged me back. 

 

Another thing that came to my mind was the song "Blessings" by Laura Story. This song has so much meaning to me. After I colored the image, I tried to figure out how to layout my card and what words to put for my sentiment. But the song keeps playing in my head. So instead of making a card, I made this 6x6 page and wrote the last part of the song like a journal. 

This now sits on my desk.

Tilda in the rain

I'm thinking of starting a smash book.  I really don't know how and where to start but I think this is a good way to start one.

Winter Skates Tilda

Where is the snow? I really have been dreaming of a White Christmas. The weather has been so mild so far (not that I'm complaining) but I really miss the snow...not the shoveling and the slippery sidewalks and roads... just the snow.

Anyway, I have a card for you today (my last post for the day) and this features Winter Skates Tilda.  I colored her with Distress Ink Reinkers.

Tilda's Town: I am thankful...

Hi there Tilda Towners!  It's Friday once again and it also means we have another challenge at 

Tilda's Town.

This week, our theme is: I am thankful

We want your creations to show/reflect what/who you are thankful for. In my card today, I used Stamping Tilda, one of the Special Magnolia Stamps released this year. So, why did I choose this stamp? Well, God has given me a million things that I am so thankful for and one blog post is not enough. So I will narrow it down to stamping. Early this year I had oral surgery, (the first of several). My whole face was swollen beyond recognition, from my forehead to my neck.  It lasted for 4 weeks and started to shrink during the 5th week. Right before the 8th week, I had to undergo another one.  And the swelling started all over again! Facing the mirror was depressing, talking was such a task and eating was so difficult. And I don't even want to talk about the pain. Urgh! 

Aside from the support from my family (especially my DH), stamping and coloring made me feel so much better. Every time, the pain kicks in, it would remind me of how hideous and swollen I looked the last time I accidentally faced the mirror. Believe me, I took showers in the dark, brushed my teeth bending over the tub, just to avoid looking at the mirror. :(  And during those days, I would just go to my desk and stamp and it helped me alot. 

Around this time last year, was when I started stamping and coloring.  I came across some card photos online and those photos inspired me so much to stamp.  I saved the photos on my iPad and made them my screen saver. Some times I would just scroll over the photos and stare and admire the creativity of the person who made them. And those card were made by PAM, our team leader and coordinator at Tilda's Town. She has been an inspiration to me and she always will. And I thank her for that. :)

Back to my card! I colored Tilda with Copics and I chose circular dies to make this card. THe beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the DP is from Magnolia, the butterfly is from Michael's and the sentiment is handwritten by me.
