Tilda's Town: Think Spring

Is it Spring yet? Officially it is! But weather-wise? I don't think so. We have been in the lower 20's this week.  And according to our weather man, we shouldn't put aside our shovels just yet.  Mmm... well, that's reassuring...

Anyhoo, I have a card today for this week's challenge at Tilda's Town.
Our theme for this week is

THINK SPRING!!!

I used Happy Spring Tilda from the Butterfly Dreams Collection.  This is one of my first owned stamps and this is just the 2nd time I have inked her.  This is a flat card where I just insert a tag for the sentiment.

I made this card after New Years so and I totally forgot the DP I used but the Distress Ink colors are my usual faves.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This is the pull out tag for the sentiment.  The stitched hearts stamp is one of the oldies from Magnolia

So, now it's your turn. We can't wait to see your Spring creations. Link up and link back to us for a chance to win a $10 gift certificated from

Tilda with Mr. Rooster

Hello again.  This is my second post for today and this time I have
I'd like to remind you that our theme for the Monthly Challenge at Stamp and Create is

You still have a couple weeks to link up your creations for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate at

OK, so here's Tilda with Mr. Rooster. But I like to call him Franklin.  He reminds me of the chickens we had back in the Philippines.  A few years ago, we went back home to the Philippines for a month long vacation.  And whenever we go home, my ultimate goal is to eat everything that I can't eat or buy here in the States. The local fruits, delicacies, my Auntie Marina's dishes and some native chicken soup or dish.
Our family friend brought us sweet potatoes, cooking bananas, huge mangoes,  jack fruit and all kinds of native fruits. He also brought us 4 native young chickens. Yes, live chickens...2 females and 2 males. And I thought, this is gonna be 4 delicious chicken dishes. (OK I'm not going to all the gory details about how a live chicken would end up in our dinner table)

As soon as my son saw the chickens, (he was 6  at that time) he was so excited too.  But my excitement was different. I could smell the aroma of my favorite chicken soup just looking at the chickens.  And I couldn't wait to get those chickens in the pot.
The following day, I heard my son playing and talking to the chickens and giving them names.  Chickie, Kenny, Daisy and Franklin. Franklin had red and black feathers.  As soon as I heard their names, I knew I was never gonna see those chickens in the pot. He played with them everyday...fed them, and  took care of them. He even reminded us every day not to hurt his chickens. Whenever he found feathers on the ground, he would interrogate everyone and ask "Who pulled out the feathers? And whoever did it should put them back!"

My son loved the chickens especially Franklin. He begged me to bring Franklin with us back to the States.  And he even offered to share his passport.

At the end, I never got my chicken soup. And the memory of Franklin and the gang still remains.

Anyway, back to my card.

I colored the image with Distress Ink Reinkers and I use 2-3 different colors for the feathers.
And I also added some sparkle using Spica pens.

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo
Hair: Walnut Stain
Dress/Bow/Shoes: Aged Mahogany, Fired Brick, Black Soot
Rooster: Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Wild Honey, Black Soot, Broken China
Back ground: Antique Linen

Wild Orchid Crafts for the flowers and  I also rolled up some roses. I used Glimmer Mist on the red rose. The feathers, lace, ribbon and seam binding are all from my stash.
DP is from MME Miss Caroline Dilly Dally

Challenges I'd like to join:
Magnolia-licious: Hoppin' to Easter

*~*~*~*~*~*

Thank for visiting my blog today. I hope you like my card. I'll be back on Friday for
Stamp and Create with Magnolia.

Have a wonderful day!

PS: By the way, if you wonder what happened to the Franklin and the gang? Oh yeah...they were in the pot as soon as we flew back here! :)

Our challange at Tilda's Town this week is
