MIA and some news

Hello Friends!
It's been awhile...and I'm sorry for being MIA these last few weeks. Summer always means "busy with the kiddo/s" and crafting is sometimes set aside to spend time with family.

Also a couple weeks ago, I broke my right index finger so no matter if I had time to craft, I could hold a marker or a paintbrush or do any crafting. Even clicking the computer mouse was so painful. But at the end of a storm, there's always a rainbow. My finger feels better now and I can hold a pen. So I'll be back in my craft room really soon.

In the mean time, I have some good news to share.  The editor of CardMaker Magazine asked me to be part of the CardMaker Blog Team for a few months. And of course, I was glad to jump in and join.
The 6 of us will be starting our term this July 2014. My 5 other teammates are:

Be sure to follow the CardMark Blog so you won't miss a single post.

See you again really soon!
Enjoy the summer!

Barn Window

Hello everyone!
My card for you today does  not have a colored image. Last week, I injured my right index finger and and I thought it was just a scrape.  I placed some band-aids to cover the cuts but then I noticed that I it started to hurt when I moved it or bent it.  Sure enough it was sprained.  So I had to splint my finger. It does feel a lot better if I keep it in a splint. BUT... had to make a card for a friend's post-wedding / birthday celebration. So I decided to make a card without a colored image.  And this is what I came up with.

For the background, I used the IO French Text stamp and stamped in on TH watercolor paper. I love the texture of this watercolor paper.  I distressed the edges with Walnut Stain and a blending tool.  I used some scrap patterned paper to die cut the Barn Window, Rose Leaf and the branches.  The flowers are from WOC.  Then I added some seam binding and a heart charm.
All the supplies I used are linked below.

Thank you for stopping by and come and visit me again soon!

SCMC: At the Beach or On the Sea

It's time for another Challenge at Stamp and Create with Magnolia.
Our theme for the next 2 weeks is

At the beach or On the Sea

Once again, I have a CAS card for you. I colored Edwin Catching Fish
(Sea Breeze Collection) using Copic Markers and matched the colors to the patterned paper which is bright and summery yellow! I added a layer of light blue cardstock to tie in with the fish :) The sentiments is also from the same collection.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!

Coloring Video: Skin & Hair

Hello, hello!
I'm back with another video! Two videos in a week? I can' believe it myself! LOL
We had a thunderstorm today so I didn't want to go out and run errands.
And I had some images stamped for cards and projects for the next 4 weeks so I thought I'd make a video while I color the skin and hair.  I received just a few requests of a coloring tutorial in the past and I thought I should give it a shot. This is not a tutorial.  I am simply sharing with you how I color with Distress Ink Reinkers. I hope you get inspired! Enjoy the video!

You can also watch the video directly in YouTube.

Please let me know what you think.  I do appreciate all your comments!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

SCMC: #37 Fancy Folds

It's time for another challenge at Stamp and Create with Magnolia
Our Theme for the next 2 weeks is:

For my take on this challenge, I made a semi-criss cross gift card holder. I made the criss cross a bit offset to give it more character. I used Tilda with Fantasy Flower from the Lost and Found Collection

This is what the inside looks like.  I used the Magnolia DooHickeys Grass and Wooden Sign dies.

The hearts are wooden buttons which I painted with acrylic paint and coated with clear Distress Crackle paint. The aged or browned look of the button was a result or reaction of the acrylic paint and the crackle paint together. This happened when it was completely dry. And I think it's a nice vintage look. What do you think?

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

And for these tiny little tags, I used the Tea Label DooHickey Dies.

Now it is your turn and we can't wait to see what Fancy Folds you create!
Link up your creations for a chance to win!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!
